Y'all know I'm always giving the tea on what's new and what's trending. Today I'm going to take you, my lovely modestees, through my top three timeless pieces that are defining fashion in 2022.

1. Puffed Sleeves

Old as gold, dating back to the renaissance period puffed sleeves are trend that was associated with royalty; from renaissance Kings and Queens and was revived in the 1980s after Princess Diana stunned with puffed sleeves on her wedding dress. The design is defined by a large puff around the shoulder and upper arm but in current takes on the age-old style the puff sometimes extends all the way down the sleeve right to the wrist. It adds a feminine touch of elegance to even the most simple top or dress. An even bolder take on the style is switching out opaque fabrics on the sleeve for sheer ones such as chiffon for an added flare of sexiness. I've always struggled with thick upper arms and puffed sleeves are my go to as they draw attention away from my chunky arms.

2. Wide Leg Pants

For a long time skinny pants had us all in a chokehold but as always, comfort prevails. The baggy pants style was at its peek back in the early 2000s but at that time it was mostly low waist jeans. Incorporating the modern day love for a high fitted waist into a wide pair of pants is a recipe for fashion success.  Be it office pants or your favorite pair of mom jeans, a wide leg pant adds volume to the hip and thigh area which is a great compliment to the female physique and that is why she stays a timeless staple.

3. Matching Sets

Yes, you heard me right, MATCHING SETS. We used to fight our moms when they would try put us in a matching top and bottom but here we are saying "Mama always knows best!".
